I was a winner and I didn't even know it!

You may have noticed a gap in my blog from about July 2012 until now…sometimes events in life knock you out of the game and that's just what happened to me.  I am building a new life and I knew that when I started scrapbooking again this summer, I was on my way.

So, I joined Close To My Heart again as an Independent Consultant.  It felt so good to reconnect with my dear sweet upline Jillene Moen and our Loony Scrappers community.  Of course I love the Close To My Heart products and find that I can create anything I want to with them. From Workshops On The Go, Studio J, our exclusive Cricut cartridges  and coming soon our Picture My Life products my creative possibilities are unlimited.

So here I sit in my new studio.  I've begun blogging again.  I am building my new life piece by piece (or should I say scrap by scrap?). Yesterday I visited one of my favorite sites, Let's Scrap.  I love their sketch challenges.  They help me to stretch my creative muscles.  When I returned to the site yesterday I found that one of my layouts was picked as the Inspiration of the week (IOTW)! what an honor.  I always use Close To My Heart products in my layouts.  This is the layout Let's Scrap chose as the Inspiration Of The Week in July 2012.

If you would like to see more details of the layout and the sketch I used to create it, click on the layout above.  When your life gets torn into pieces, use them to create a whole new scrapbook, full of new memories, dreams and accomplishments. I'll be happy to show you how with Close To My Heart.

Studio J Helps Fight Depression

This week I was feeling depressed after returning from a trip to Seattle where I spent time with Daniel, Tiffany and Laura. Tom and I had time to relax and do a few Seattle things so of course I took pictures. I uploaded my pictures but the thought of cleaning up my space to start scrapbooking was overwhelming. Then I got the idea to do some Studio J layouts. The pictures of my loved ones lifted my spirits. Picking the layout components felt a bit like shopping, which can be good therapy. By the end of the week my depression had lifted quite a bit. I think I'm back on track and now I have something to look forward to - the arrival of my layouts. Instant gratification=jpegs! Here are my layouts! If you click on them you can see them full size. I hope they bring you some cheer. If you have questions about Studio J visit my CTMH website or contact me. If you sometimes battle depression, you are not alone. Help and encouragement are available. Here's an article from suite
